Kingdom Hearts IV headlines a slate of new Square Enix announcements, with the company confirming the title will appear on Nintendo Switch 2 and other major platforms, and with a streamlined KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] now available for pre-order. Square Enix said the Collection bundles KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and KINGDOM HEARTS III plus Re Mind content, and will be offered in both native and cloud configurations depending on platform.

Square Enix also opened digital pre-orders and issued a free demo of KINGDOM HEARTS III plus Re Mind for Nintendo Switch 2 that is split into two playable sections, with save-transfer rules that vary by section. The publisher listed platform-exclusive in-game items for buyers, including a Long Night keyblade for Nintendo Switch 2, a Midnight Blue keyblade for PlayStation 5, and a Phantom Green keyblade for XBOX Series X|S, and said digital pre-orders on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S receive 48-hour early access.

The company outlined upgrade and discount paths for owners of prior versions, noting discounts for holders of earlier cloud or last-generation digital editions and limited options to transfer cloud saves to Nintendo Switch 2. Sales of the cloud-only versions have ceased, and Square Enix said service for that version will be discontinued at a later specified date. The publisher also unveiled a special 25th anniversary logo and reiterated the series has shipped over 39 million units worldwide, as reported by its press material.

Visual Parity And Platform Confirmations

Footage shown during a Nintendo presentation offered the clearest look yet at the Nintendo Switch 2 build, and analysis of the trailers found the Switch 2 footage runs natively at 1080p while the other platform footage appears rendered at roughly 1440p then upscaled to 4K, as reported by a postshow comparison. The same analysis noted modest differences in distant scenery textures and level of detail, while character models, lighting and visual effects remained largely consistent across platforms.

Following the showcase, Square Enix confirmed a simultaneous launch across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC on multiple storefronts, according to postpresentation reporting. Kingdom Hearts IV was described as the fifteenth entry and the opening of the new "Lost Master" story arc, following protagonist Sora in the urban setting Quadratum, and Square Enix said more details about the game will be revealed in the future.
