  • Version 1.0.2 released globally to fix progression and save issues
  • Nintendo patch fixes island progression and Palette House exterior bug
  • Save corruption after confessions and cohabitation now addressed
  • Wishing fountain placement and local play issues were also fixed

Tomodachi Life Update Patch Notes outline a global version 1.0.2 release from Nintendo that addresses progress-blocking bugs and other issues, Game Rant reported.

Nintendo provided an official list of fixes that address several gameplay blockers and odd behaviours, as reported by Nintendo in its patch summary. The company said the update fixes an issue where island progression stalls after a player builds up their island, and an issue where changing to an exterior created at the Palette House could prevent the game from progressing.

Nintendo also listed fixes for multiple save corruption reports. The update corrects a problem where successful confessions then produced a corrupted save data message, and it fixes a separate issue where saving after multiple Mii characters began living together could display a corruption error and prevent saving. The company said the update resolves a rare scene switch error that could halt the game.

Nintendo further addressed gameplay and cosmetic bugs, according to its notes. The patch restores the ability to place the wishing fountain after it was stored with Island Builder, fixes a bug that removed a Mii character's crush after a failed reconciliation, makes a Mii feel better when its Sadness runs out, and repairs local play send and receive functionality. The patch also replaces a misused image of the southern flying squirrel with the correct sugar glider image.

Update Delivery And Player Guidance

Nintendo advised players that save data will remain available after installing the update and that the patch will download automatically if the console is connected to the internet with Software Auto-Updates enabled, the company said. The publisher also described the manual update path via the HOME Menu, using the + or - button to view the current version and selecting Software Update followed by Via the Internet.

The company reminded players that all participants must use the same software version to play together, and it suggested checking storage availability before downloading the update, pointing to storage tips for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Game Rant noted this release follows a prior version 1.0.1 patch that addressed other undisclosed issues, and the new update continues Nintendo's effort to refine Tomodachi Life Living The Dream.
