Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been moved out of solitary confinement and back to the general population at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center, XXL Magazine reported.
Durk, 33, had been held in the facility's special housing unit since August 2025, according to reporting summarized by Rap-Up.com. Prison officials placed him in isolation after he was allegedly found with an Apple Watch, which prison rules prohibit as contraband.
He remains in custody. Authorities arrested Durk in October 2024 in Broward County, Florida on murder-for-hire charges tied to a 2022 killing.
Prosecutors say the case concerns the 2022 death of Lul Pab, who was described in charging documents as a relative of Quando Rondo. The prosecution contends the killing was ordered in retaliation for King Von's death in 2020 and that Durk orchestrated the attack, the filings allege.
Case Progress And Legal Consequences
Court proceedings for Durk and five Only The Family associates remain active. The defendants face counts including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and committing murder-for-hire, as set out in indictments reported by Rap-Up.
Durk’s trial was originally scheduled to begin on January 20. A judge granted a continuance and reset the trial for May after prosecutors and other defendants requested more time, citing the case's complexity. A court filing said the case was "so unusual and so complex" that preparation within statutory time limits was unreasonable.
Durk has sought release on bond multiple times. Rap-Up reported that his requests, including a $4.5 million bail package, were denied. Before his October arrest, Durk reportedly booked multiple flights out of the country, the reporting adds.
