Summary
  • Huawei tested the Pura X with 3.5 and 6.3 inch screens
  • A rumored Huawei foldable may reach 7.69 inches unfolded
  • Watch GT Runner 2 leak lists ECG, HRV, dual frequency GPS, and 32 hour GPS
  • Eliud Kipchoge linked to marketing and regional approvals may limit features

Huawei is preparing a new wide screen foldable that could blur the line between phone and tablet, as reported by Fast Technology. The company tested the approach with the Pura X introduced in March 2025, which has a 3.5 inch external display and a 6.3 inch internal screen.

According to Fast Technology, Huawei is now said to be developing a larger model that unfolds to about 7.69 inches, a size described as close to that of an iPad mini. The rumored device would join a nascent wide screen foldable segment that several manufacturers are researching as an alternative to traditional thin foldables.

Fast Technology reports the new design does not chase maximal thinness. Instead it prioritizes usable display area, which the outlet says could be up to 10 percent larger than conventional foldables. That extra space is presented as an advantage for reading documents, handling email, and running multi window workflows on the go.

Fast Technology also links the new product to Huawei’s Pura X series lineage and reports the device may include the Kirin 9030 chipset and a quad lens Red Maple camera system. If accurate, the configuration aims to combine expanded display area with the company’s existing strengths in performance and imaging.

Watch GT Runner 2 Leak and Fitness Focus

Separately, WinFuture published images and specs for the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 ahead of its unveiling, describing it as a high end successor aimed at serious runners. The leak lists an AMOLED display in a slim case that is partly titanium, and new two tone straps including an AirDry band with raised threading and ventilation slits for breathability.

WinFuture reports the watch adds ECG functionality and heart rate variability tracking, and uses dual frequency GPS commonly described as L1 plus L5 to improve route accuracy in urban or wooded environments. Battery life is listed at up to 32 hours of continuous GPS use and up to 14 days in typical smartwatch mode.

The leak describes an Intelligent Marathon Mode that acts like a coach with structured plans, race pace guidance, and post race analysis that ties HRV, sleep, and training load into recovery recommendations. WinFuture also says Eliud Kipchoge is slated to front the marketing campaign.

WinFuture notes regulatory clearance and regional availability could affect feature rollout, with ECG needing local approvals. The watch is expected to run HarmonyOS and pair with the Huawei Health app, which in some regions is distributed via AppGallery rather than mainstream app stores.
