Nintendo’s forthcoming Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake has prompted a wave of retailer incentives in Japan and a small price cut for US preorders. Famitsu reported that more than 15 Japanese stores will attach exclusive physical bonuses to boxed copies sold through participating retailers. The items vary by outlet and include small collectibles and practical accessories that accompany the Switch 2 release.

Examples of the Japan-only bonuses include acrylic coasters and stands, a wooden diorama display set with a cleaning cloth, a jute and canvas tote bag, acrylic charms, domed pin badges, character stickers and an acrylic figure. Famitsu published promotional images showing each retailer’s offering, and Nintendo provided the screenshots used in the announcement. The Japanese physical release also carries two separate early purchase bonuses, an original art card set and a Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary sticker, both available in limited quantities and subject to retailer availability.

The retailer bonuses are exclusive to Japan and differ by store. Shoppers are advised to confirm which bonus is included with a given listing before ordering, since the selection depends on the participating outlet and stock may run out for some items.

US Preorders And Packaging Details

In the US market, Mashable reported a modest preorder discount at major online retailers. Amazon and Walmart were offering the physical edition for $59.88, down from the listed $69.99, while the digital edition was priced at $59.99, as reported by Mashable. Other retailers such as Best Buy, Target, GameStop and the Nintendo Store were not matching that price at the time of reporting.

Nintendo said in a press release that the first print run of the physical edition will include special packaging with textured foil cover art. Mashable also noted that some stores had already sold out of the limited first-print cover. The report added that Nintendo plans related 40th anniversary hardware, including a special-edition Switch 2 console, a Pro Controller and a carrying case, with those items scheduled for separate release around the franchise anniversary, as outlined by a Mashable contributor.

Consumers who want retailer-specific bonuses in Japan or the textured foil first print in the US should check listings and act quickly. Availability varies by store and the limited nature of early purchase and first-run items means stock could be depleted before launch.
