Clippers vs Warriors play ended with the Los Angeles Clippers rallying from a 17 point deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors 114 101, as reported by AP.
As reported by AP, Kawhi Leonard scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and supplied four assists while Los Angeles erased the double digit hole late in the third quarter.
The comeback featured a Darius Garland 3 pointer with 3:09 left in the third that pulled the Clippers within 75 68. Kris Dunn followed with a steal and layup, and Los Angeles entered the fourth trailing 79 77 before a 9 4 run gave the lead early in the final period, AP reported.
AP noted the Clippers shot just 9 for 31 from three point range but still rallied. The report added that Dunn finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Los Angeles.
For Golden State, Brandin Podziemski led the scoring with 22 points, AP reported. Al Horford added 17 points, while Stephen Curry remained sidelined for an 11th straight game and Kristaps Porzingis missed a fifth consecutive contest because of an illness coach Steve Kerr described as mysterious.
AP also reported rookie Will Richard was in a walking boot for a sprained right ankle sustained in the team’s previous loss. The Warriors have lost five of seven and nine of 14, AP said.
Darius Garland Debut And Injury Details
The game also marked Darius Garland’s debut for the Clippers after his trade from Cleveland in the deal that sent James Harden to the Cavaliers, AP reported. Garland came off the bench and played nearly 23 minutes, finishing with 12 points in his first appearance for Los Angeles, according to AP.
Earlier reporting noted Garland had been out since January 16 with a right toe sprain and had residual soreness in a surgically repaired left foot from the 2025 offseason. The Clippers used three practice days to progress him into five on five work before his debut.
With 3 20 remaining in the first half, Garland hit a pull up three to record his first basket as a Clipper, according to the second report. That source said he finished the first half with five points, one assist and three turnovers while shooting 1 of 3 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.
AP described a second quarter collision in which Garland went down with 1 26 left after contesting a loose ball with Moses Moody, and both players were shaken but remained in the game.
