Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of a limited set of Outshine Fruit Bars after discovering possible foreign material contamination with glass. The company said the action covers only five flavors sold in the six count 2.5 ounce paddle bar format.
The affected flavors named by the company are Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry. The recall covers specific package UPCs for Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape and Tangerine, while the company noted batch codes printed on the bottom of the package identify impacted lots.
Dreyer's published the following UPCs for the recalled packs: Strawberry UPC 041548610047, Watermelon UPC 041548413624, Grape UPCs 041548244044 and 041548000121, and Tangerine UPC 041548612041. Black Cherry is listed among the recalled flavors but the company release did not pair it with a UPC in the product table.
The company provided a detailed set of batch codes that consumers and retailers should check on the bottom of affected packages. Examples include series beginning with LLA6169 through LLA6176 and LLA6203 through LLA6216 for Strawberry, multiple LLA61xx and LLA62xx codes for Grape, LLA6176 through LLA6195 for Watermelon and specific LLA6196 and LLA6197 codes for Tangerine. Batch codes are printed on the bottom of the package and identify recalled lots.
Dreyer's said no illnesses or injuries have been reported to date and advised anyone concerned about an injury to contact a healthcare provider. The company asked consumers who purchased affected product to dispose of it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund. Dreyer's apologized for the inconvenience and said it remains committed to product safety and quality.
