Extended Outlook and Expected Above Normal Temperatures
Forecasters indicate a stretch of above-normal temperatures through the month, with a warming trend beginning midweek. FOX Chicago meteorologist Mike Caplan said today’s highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, then rise to upper 60s or around 70 on the following day.
Caplan added that from Wednesday onward, highs should generally range between 70 and 75 degrees while overnight lows settle in the lower 50s. He noted that temperatures may be a couple of degrees cooler along the lakeshore, creating modest local variation.
For comparison, the normal high and low for Thursday are 60 and 43 degrees. The combined forecasts point to a prolonged period of mild, sunny weather for the city before a noticeable cooldown arrives early next week.
