  • Decomposed remains of 14 year old found in Tesla trunk at tow lot

The singer d4vd is in Los Angeles police custody after his arrest on suspicion of murder, the LAPD said.

LAPD detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division made the arrest and the department said he is being held without bail while the case is turned over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for review.

Authorities said the case will be presented to the district attorney's Major Crimes Division, where prosecutors will review the facts and evidence to decide whether to file charges, the prosecutor's office said.

Law enforcement sources told reporters the arrest followed testimony before a grand jury in which multiple witnesses described matters under investigation, and that Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman had presented evidence to the panel.

According to reports, witnesses who testified included the singer's day to day manager Robert Morgenroth and his friend and streamer Neo Langston, and LAPD sources said detectives developed probable cause before moving to arrest him.

Background And Case Details

Police said officers discovered a decomposed body in the trunk of a Tesla that had been impounded at a Hollywood tow lot after a foul odor was reported coming from the vehicle.

Court filings described investigators finding a black cadaver bag containing a decomposed head and torso, and a second bag holding dismembered body parts, and law enforcement sources identified the remains as a 14 year old girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

The medical examiner said the remains were not intact and appeared to have been in the car for an extended period, and authorities earlier placed a security hold on releasing details about cause and manner of death.

Reports said the girl had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore in 2024 and that family members said she had a boyfriend named David, and the family held a funeral at Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Mortuary in Rowland Heights.

Investigators noted similarities between a tattoo on the victim's right index finger and the singer's matching ink, and they described the victim wearing black leggings, a tube top, stud earrings and a yellow metal chain bracelet when found.

The singer's lawyers issued a statement saying they planned to vigorously defend his innocence and that he had only been detained under suspicion, noting no grand jury indictment or criminal complaint had been returned at the time.
