The Lauderhill Police Department announced a major accreditation milestone and reiterated its hiring push for police officer candidates. The department said it was awarded a third consecutive Excelsior re accreditation by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation as of June 25, 2026. This recognition reflects a continuing record of standards compliance and external review.
The department traced its accreditation history to an initial award on June 29, 2005 and then re accreditations in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020, 2023, and 2026. The agency reported that in 2020 it was reviewed by the commission and recognized as an Excelsior accredited agency, described as five re accreditations without conditions. Upon assessment in 2023 the department achieved a second consecutive Excelsior status, and the June 25, 2026 award represents the third consecutive Excelsior re accreditation according to the department.
The department framed the achievement as part of its mission to protect the community and enhance quality of life for residents and visitors through professional police service in partnership with the community. Lauderhill Police Department said it is looking to hire both certified and non certified police officers and invited interested individuals to apply through its recruitment channels. The department described itself as a progressive, community oriented agency committed to developing partnerships with civic and business members to identify and solve problems.
Off Duty Details And Community Services
The department also described procedures for off duty police details and external engagements. It directs applicants for off duty officer work to complete an online application through an extra duty vendor portal. New customers are required to prepay, and the department will follow up with an estimated prepayment invoice and a link to process payment. Applicants and customers are asked to monitor their email for that information.
The department cautioned that off duty details are never guaranteed because assignment depends on officer interest and availability. It noted that scheduling therefore balances community requests with personnel willingness and operational demands. For outreach and updates the department lists social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as contact points.
