The rhode island shooting at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket unfolded during a high school hockey game, leaving two victims dead and three others hospitalized, authorities said.
Pawtucket Police identified the shooter as 56-year-old Robert K. Dorgan, who also used the names Roberta Esposito and Roberta Dorgano, and said the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves described the incident as appearing to stem from a family dispute, and said officers arrived on scene within a minute and a half of receiving the report.
An online profile that appears to belong to Dorgan posted ominous content in the days before the attack, including a video showing a woman loading ammunition and a written threat to 'go BERSERK' while defending a transgender congresswoman, according to news reports.
Court records and police reports obtained by local media show Dorgan had a history of disputes with relatives, including allegations that tensions escalated after he underwent gender reassignment surgery, and that he accused family members of threats and assault.
