US-Hyderabad Symposium highlights shared solutions for innovation, equity and sustainability as linked gatherings showcased food systems and energy ideas across institutional and regional forums.

Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad submitted a paper titled "Dryland Food Systems in Telangana" at a UN Pre-Summit forum, presenting findings developed with ICRISAT.

RICH said it convened an online dialogue that included government representatives, researchers, civil society, industry and farmers, and distilled deliberations into the submitted paper.

Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana, urged revival of dryland crops like millets and pulses through collaborative work across start-ups, academia, and government departments.

RICH Director Bhubesh Kumar outlined the scale of dryland farming and urged urgent action to address low yields and climate resilience to meet SDG targets, according to RICH statements.

ICRISAT Director General Dr. Jacqueline d'Arros Hughes emphasized boosting production, diversifying diets, fixing inefficient supply chains, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions to tackle hunger and malnutrition.

Rashmi Pimpale, CEO of RICH, said the Hyderabad Cluster aims to foster cross-sector research and innovation and described the Pre-Summit dialogue as a chance to build collaborative solutions.

The Earth Summit EXPO in Hyderabad will serve as a policy platform to accelerate rural transformation, with Telangana as host state and a curated role for startups, financiers, and state innovators.

The Hyderabad event is positioned to showcase AgriTech, rural infrastructure, climate innovation, renewable energy, and digital tools to modernize agriculture and expand rural finance.

Energy Forum And Cross Cutting Implications

The Radcliffe Institute at Harvard held the "Power Shift" science symposium, which focused on producing energy more efficiently and equitably, according to the Radcliffe description.

Speakers at Radcliffe highlighted frontier technologies such as fusion, hydrogen fuel, micro-fission, and decarbonized shipping as possible additions to renewables for a fair energy transition.

The Radcliffe symposium brought together scientists, public officials, industry leaders, environmental justice advocates, and behavioral scientists to investigate an equitable energy revolution.

Radcliffe acknowledged the Ardis Butler James Fund for Science as supporting the event, and framed energy innovations as tools to address geographic and socioeconomic inequities.

Taken together, the Hyderabad dialogues and the Radcliffe symposium emphasized overlapping aims: innovation, equity, and sustainability across food and energy systems, with a focus on policy, finance, and technology partnerships.
