Apple has introduced a cluster of home products centered on a new fixed-display device called HomeView, alongside updated speakers, a new Apple TV 4K and a branded accessory line from LG and Schneider Electric. Apple positions HomeView as a shared family dashboard rather than a tablet substitute. The company equipped the device with an A18 chip and designed it as a 7 inch Liquid Retina screen mounted on an angle adjustable stainless steel hinge above a hemispherical speaker base.

The HomeView desktop model comes in Silver, Starlight, Pink and Space Gray, and Apple sells separate wall mounted variants and installation accessories. Apple listed the US price for both desktop and wall mounted models at $299, with wall mount accessories priced at $59.95 for the USB C power supply version and $79.95 for the AC powered accessory. A Power over Ethernet model is priced at $129.95 and will arrive in early 2027.

Apple described HomeView as a proximity aware shared display. The front camera can recognize up to six users and switch each person to their own home screen, schedules and widgets. Personal messages and calendars appear only when a nearby iPhone or iPad has been unlocked recently and the device recognizes the user, a design choice Apple says protects privacy compared with a logged in tablet.

The new HomePod mini 2 and the 4th generation Apple TV 4K accompany HomeView. Apple fitted the compact speaker with an S10 chip and updated far field voice pickup and low frequency performance. The HomePod mini 2 comes in Pink, Green, Blue, White and Midnight and carries a mainland China price of 1,099 RMB, with pre orders opening now and sales beginning October 30, as reported.

Implications For The Home Ecosystem

Apple also refreshed its set top box with an A19 chip, which Apple said delivers 50 percent faster CPU performance and doubled GPU performance versus the prior model. The new Apple TV 4K adds an AV1 hardware decoder, three far field microphones and a redesigned Siri Remote with an integrated speaker for locating it by sound, and supports Precision Finding via a compatible iPhone. Apple listed a North American price of $299 and said pre orders start today ahead of a November 13 launch.

To knit the products into a managed system, Apple announced an Apple Home Collection with LG and Schneider Electric. LG will supply door locks, video doorbells, indoor and outdoor cameras, floodlight cameras, thermostats and environmental sensors. Schneider will offer thermostats and room sensors. Apple intends these devices to be configurable and manageable from the Home app without separate brand apps or accounts.

The rollout carries geographic limits. The HomePod mini 2 is the only product immediately available in the Chinese mainland market, while the Apple TV 4K and HomeView have US launch details and no mainland China versions announced. The article noted that certain multi speaker spatial audio setups require the new Apple TV 4K, a constraint that limits some home theater uses where the set top box is not sold locally.
