Apple has introduced the Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max as its latest high end smartphones, the company says. The Pro model uses the A19 Pro chip with an extra GPU core to boost graphics performance. Apple says the new silicon pairs with a vapor chamber to dissipate heat and maintain peak performance during demanding tasks.
Both Pro models share a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz and the new 18MP Center Stage front camera, enabling improved selfies and Dual Capture for simultaneous front and rear video. Apple says the Ceramic Shield 2 front offers three times better scratch resistance than iPhone 16. The Pro includes a dedicated Fusion Telephoto camera that offers 4x and 8x optical zoom options, Apple adds.
Apple describes distinct size and battery differences. The iPhone 17 Pro has a 6.3 inch display, while iPhone 17 Pro Max measures 6.9 inches. Apple states the Pro supports up to 33 hours of video playback and the Pro Max up to 39 hours. Pro Max also doubles maximum onboard storage with an available 2TB option for large photo libraries and 4K video, Apple says.
Availability Pricing And Accessories
Apple says customers can buy iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max at Apple Stores, apple.com, and from select carriers and partners. The Apple online store lists models with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage, and shows prices ranging up to $1,999. Carrier options include branded variations and a Connect On Your Own Later choice, according to the store listings.
Apple confirms trade in credit is available through Apple Trade In, which can apply value toward a new iPhone or provide free recycling when a device is not eligible for credit. For charging, Apple says MagSafe wireless charging supports up to 25W with the Apple MagSafe Charger paired with a USB‑C 30W adapter or higher. Wired charging reaches 50 percent in about 20 minutes with a USB‑C 40W adapter or higher.
The company highlights software and accessory features as well. iPhone 17 Pro models support Pro photo and video formats, including ProRAW and ProRes, Apple says. The phones are compatible with Apple MagSafe cases, TechWoven and Silicone cases, and selected Beats cases, some of which support the Crossbody Strap. Apple also points to Apple Intelligence tools, such as Clean Up in Photos, for AI powered editing on these iPhones.
