Apple this month tied a wide pre order rollout for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to a single start time. MacRumors reported pre orders open on Saturday September 12 at 5 00 a m Pacific Time across multiple countries. The outlet compiled local start times ranging from 8 00 p m in several Asian markets to 1 00 p m in the UK and other European locations.
Apple lets customers use a Get Ready pre order setup until 9 00 p m Pacific Time on the Friday before pre orders. The feature allows buyers to pick a model, confirm carrier choice and enter payment and shipping details ahead of the open. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at 1,199 US dollars and the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at 1,299 US dollars, as noted in the pre launch coverage. MacRumors also warned that supply availability is uncertain and popular models or colors may sell out quickly.
Apple expects first deliveries of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on Friday September 18. US carriers will offer discounts and Apple will present its Apple Upgrade program and trade in options to reduce purchase costs. Customers who want a device on launch day were advised to pre order immediately because inventory could move within minutes or hours.

Apple published Product Environmental Reports for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and other devices. The reports list life cycle greenhouse gas emissions per storage configuration. For the iPhone 18 Pro Apple reports 63 kilograms CO2e at 256 gigabytes rising to 109 kilograms at 2 terabytes. For the iPhone 18 Pro Max Apple reports 69 kilograms CO2e at 256 gigabytes rising to 114 kilograms at 2 terabytes.
The company’s full configuration set shows stepped increases. The iPhone 18 Pro is 63 kg at 256 GB, 72 kg at 512 GB, 81 kg at 1 TB and 109 kg at 2 TB. The Pro Max is 69 kg, 79 kg, 87 kg and 114 kg for the same tiers. Apple’s report attributes the larger emissions change primarily to storage capacity. Moving from 256 GB to 2 TB adds 46 kg on the Pro and 45 kg on the Pro Max, equal to a 73 percent and 65 percent rise respectively.
Apple breaks down the 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro life cycle showing production at 46 kg of the total, customer use at 13 kg, transportation at 3 kg and end of life under one kilogram. The company states 40 percent recycled content overall and 85 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure. The environmental reports note manufacturing electricity was 50 percent from renewable sources, packaging is 100 percent fiber based and final assembly sites meet a zero waste to landfill verification standard.
The emissions figures appear only in the Product Environmental Report PDFs and not on product pages or tech specs. Apple also updated its life cycle model in fiscal 2026 for display panels and system on chip, reporting average carbon intensities for OLED and LCD. A separate Product Environmental Report for the iPhone Duo is live even though that phone ships on Friday October 23.
