Summary
  • Prime Day largely concluded but some October deals remain live
  • M5 MacBook Air dropped to $1,099 at Amazon and Best Buy
  • Surface Laptop 7th Edition listed 36 percent off with long battery life
  • Best Buy and Walmart running concurrent sales during Techtober and Deal Days

Prime Day sales have largely concluded for most shoppers, but a limited set of October offers remains live across retailers, reporters say. NBC Selected found some Prime Big Deal Days prices still active for Prime members. Mashable shopping reporter Haley Henschel also flagged lingering laptop discounts that retailers are keeping available for now.

Henschel reported that Apple’s M5 MacBook Air returned to a $1,099 price point after a $200 discount at Amazon and Best Buy, reversing recent price increases. She highlighted a deep discount on Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 7th Edition with a Snapdragon X Elite chip, which Mashable said is 36 percent off and has roughly a 23 hour battery life. Mashable noted the Surface model was praised by a former tech editor for its refined design and polish.

Budget buyers were pointed to Best Buy’s XPS 13 offers, with two 512GB configurations listed from about $599.99 during a Techtober event, according to Mashable. The outlet also called out a range of deeply discounted Windows and gaming laptops, including HP OmniBook, Lenovo Yoga and several Acer and MSI gaming systems. Mashable said it used the price tracker camelcamelcamel to confirm many prices were at recent lows.

Retail Context And What Shoppers Should Know

NBC Selected advised shoppers that while the official October Prime Day event ended, a handful of deals across categories remain at or near their Prime Big Deal Days prices. The outlet recommended acting quickly because those offers could expire at any moment. It listed items still available at reduced prices, from popular earbuds and Kindles to kitchen and personal care products.

Mashable said its selections were cross-checked across retailers and highlighted overlapping promotions at Best Buy and Walmart, both running concurrent sitewide sales. NBC Selected reported its Prime Day coverage used price trackers and minimum thresholds before including items, and the reporter said she expects Amazon’s next major sale may fall in June or July of next year. Both outlets urged shoppers to compare prices across sellers before buying.
